Sree Narayana Public School, Trivandrum - Discipline

PREFECTS

Senior students appointed as prefects, will be in charge of the general discipline inside the campus.

General Guidelines for School Discipline

1.
The school insists on punctuality, regular attendance, good manners, cleanliness and devotion to study. Every student is expected to be courteous in talk and behavior. They must use polite expressions like 'thank you', 'excuse me', 'sorry', 'please', 'good morning', 'good afternoon', etc. Students are expected to get up from their seats when a teacher or visitor/guest enters the room or the place where they happen to be and stand erect when being spoken to.
2.Student must bring the necessary text and note books neatly covered and labeled. No newspaper, periodical, cell phone, or picture shall be brought to the school.
3.
It is the responsibility of all pupils to keep the classrooms and premises neat and tidy. Waste materials are to be deposited in the bins.
4.Any damage caused to the school property or that of other pupils will have to be made good.
5.Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of their books / belongings.
6.All assignments shall be completed and submitted in time.
7.Inattentiveness, indifference to any subject, discourtesy to the staff or any act which affects the discipline/reputation of the school will be viewed seriously.
8.Habitual negligence of school work, dishonesty, obscenity, indiscipline or such other acts of misconduct will invite disciplinary action including expulsion from the school.
9.The pupils must move along the corridor / verandah in silence, walk in single line keeping to the right.
10.Students are not allowed to play in the classrooms, corridors or in the school yards during intervals. Pupils of one class/section are not allowed to be in any other class / section at any time.
11.Pupils must speak in English at all times, at school and in the school bus.
12.Students are not allowed to leave the school premises during class time without the written permission of the class teacher / Principal. They should not have any contact with strangers on their way to or back from school.
13.Pupils are not allowed to bring razor blades or sharp instruments to school.
14.Every student is expected to take an active part in the co-curricular activities and competitions - games, sports, literary activities, educational tours, picnics etc.
15.If any student is sick or wounded, the matter should be immediately reported to the teacher / Principal.
16.Private tuition is to be avoided. It cuts at the root of self-reliance and active self-learning. It has been observed that those who rely on regular private tuition do not reach the level of their innate potential. They are also found to develop distaste for learning as a whole. It takes away free hours of the students. The management, Principal and the teachers take the responsibility of teaching the students. Extra classes and special classes will be arranged when required from this academic year
17.
In the absence of the class teacher, the class leader assumes responsibility for order and discipline in the class. All students are expected to follow the instructions strictly, given by the class teachers through class leaders.

18.Genuine grievances of parents may be discussed with the Principal/ Teachers.
19.The school diary shall be brought daily.
20.Students travelling by school bus should queue up when boarding.
21.Attendance at assemblies and school functions are compulsory.
22.Students are expected to wear proper school uniform, bring books, be regular, obtain the signature of the parents on remarks written by the teacher, etc.
23.The management reserves its right to request any parent to withdraw the ward from the school if the behaviour or conduct of the ward/parent goes against the discipline, culture, standard and ethics of the school.
